Dr Stephanie Dowrick on refugees and “taking refuge”

Taking Refuge, Finding Courage: a talk by Dr. Stephanie Dowrick given on 16 March 2014 at Interfaith in Sydney, Pitt Street (264) Uniting Church. In this talk, Stephanie Dowrick brings together two vital themes: concern for the many millions who are without a safe home in our world, including refugees and asylum seekers – currently so cruelly treated by many countries including Australia – and also our urgent need to discover our hearts and souls as an inner sanctuary, a “place of refuge” and an infinite resource for a more conscious life. We need this not for our own sake solely, but – and urgently – in order that we can move through the world more generously and inclusively. Stephanie Dowrick has been leading monthly services at Pitt Street Uniting Church since June 2006. All welcome to these truly inclusive, deeply uplifting gatherings.  You are welcome to leave comments on Stephanie Dowrick’s FACEBOOK page.
