Stephanie Dowrick on the power of living thankfully

Dr Stephanie Dowrick begins this powerful talk on thanksgiving and living fully as well as “thankfully” by quoting Mahatma Gandhi on what we share: our unity with all of humanity, with “our human and divine family” as well as the profound possibility that each of us is “enough”. She also reflects on the sublime opportunity we have to learn from all the faith, wisdom traditions – for the first time in human history.  “We are the presence of else can love be present?”  This talk, with its deep call to hope as well as love, was given at the 7-year anniversary service of the interfaith, spiritually inclusive services Stephanie Dowrick leads at Pitt Street Uniting Church, sublimely supported by musicians Dr Kim Cunio and Heather Lee. The services continue on the 3rd Sunday of each month at Pitt Street Uniting Church, 264 Pitt Street, Sydney, starting promptly at 3pm (and with glorious community singing beforehand, 1,15-2.15pm led by Elizabeth Lecoanet; no charge, all welcome). Dr Dowrick also leads retreats in Australia and New Zealand: the next retreat is at Mana Retreat Centre, New Zealand, 3-6,6-9 October 2013 (last 3 days optional for those wanting extra time to deepen their retreat experience.)
