This is a particularly special invitation to our sacred, peace-giving service on 17 September 2017, 3pm. As some of you know, this will be the last of our monthly services at Pitt Street Uniting Church, after more than eleven years. This is in large part because I have had nearly a year of serious illness (illness a few months after a major flood in our house…we are still waiting for the locusts!). Despite now being on the slow mend, I have had to take several large steps back in terms of my public and ministry life. It is, though, not the end of “Interfaith in Sydney” – there will in due course be less frequent events, study days and also longer retreats, especially at Mana. However, it is the end of the beautiful rhythm of gathering each month in that special place with all its expectations of community and connection.
The service on the 17th will be more than usually meaningful. We have so much to be thankful for. Please just look above at the line-up of musicians! We will have STUPENDOUS music and profound teachings of love and spiritual encouragement. Reverend Ian Pearson will also be with us, as he was so constantly through many years. It will be glorious – as well as acknowledging the loss of something that has been sustaining for so long.
We would truly love to see you there to share this honouring. I would also ask you, if you can, to use social media and also personal invitations to let those in your circles know what a unique service this will be. We can never know when a personal, kind invitation is just what someone needs. If each of you reaches out to just a few people, then many will be able to receive what the services bring and give. You can simply “share” from my Facebook page if that makes it easy (events).
If this email is reaching you far from Sydney, then know that there are many of my talks, recorded over the years, on the Interfaith in Sydney YouTube channel. If, though, it is reaching you within Sydney or the surrounds, please come to be with us. There truly is nothing like being present. Blessings to all wherever you are. And gratitude. Stephanie
